Abstract

Once the health crisis is over, we would like to value everyone's experience in this "atypical" regime of continuous agile work by identifying new ways of working and interacting for the future that can improve our working life and safeguard the achievement of business objectives.

Since we have lived this experience differently, we are launching this call for ideas open to all the participants to the recruiting day to understand what you would like your future working experience to be.

This call for ideas contributes to the achievement of different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and has a particular impact on SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth.

Description

BACKGROUND

Ever since the pandemic, Enel has promptly adopted continuous smart working for the activities that can be carried out remotely to guarantee employees' health and safety while ensuring the continuity and quality of service to the communities we operate in.

By enhancing the technologies already available and adopting new ones, maximizing the use of laptops, tablets and smartphones, digital platforms, video calls, and new ways of sharing documents, almost half of Enel employees could continue working from home.

We have all changed habits, reviewed the ways of interacting and managing activities; we have certainly learned new things and have performed our tasks differently.

Enel CEO Francesco Starace stated: "Based on the experience accumulated in recent months, we will introduce some refinements to some processes and work procedures, to further increase the protection from the risk of contagion, and in some cases to make our activities easier […]"

Throughout this period, the performance of our Group absorbed the impact of the pandemic, giving great proof of resilience; an outcome that is the result of discipline, flexibility, great dedication and focus on the work of each of us.

When traveling will be possible again, when we can be together, when we can meet with our external and internal stakeholders, we will treasure what we lived through, how we dealt with it and how we were able to carry out the activities in these months.”

THE CHALLENGE

Once the health crisis is over, what will be the new ways of working and interacting, and how can we improve our working life while ensuring business objectives? What new, acquired skills during this period of agile work will become part of our daily actions, and what other skills will we need to reinforce?
